'Ninja burglar' uses roof to break into Walgreens

HOUSTON - A burglar reached new heights to break into a Walgreens Pharmacy in southeast Houston.

Around 4:30 a.m. Friday, Houston police received an alarm call for a break in at the Walgreens on Reveille at Park Place.

Police said a man dressed in all black wearing a white mask broke into the store through the roof.

Store security cameras showed video of the burglar entering the back of the store through the ceiling near the pharmacy. Police sent a K-9 unit in to search for the burglar, but he was gone by the time officers arrived.

Friday's burglary is similar to an incident that happened last month. Police said back on May 17, a burglar dressed in all black came through the ceiling, used a rope to get down and then stole hydrocodone from the pharmacy before climbing out.

Police said it's too soon to say whether these two crimes are connected.

Investigators said the store manager was unable to tell if anything was stolen, but will do a walk through with pharmacy personnel.

Anyone with information about these burglaries is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
