New surveillance video released in shooting of security guard

HOUSTON – Police on Wednesday released new surveillance video of the man believed to have shot a security guard several times nearly two months ago in southwest Houston.

The shooting was reported about 11:45 p.m. May 25 in a parking lot at 11300 Bissonnet St.

Houston police said a security guard was sitting in a vehicle when a man walked up, pointed a gun and demanded the guard’s weapon. They said the pair struggled, and the security guard was shot several times. They said the gunman fled the scene.

The guard was taken to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment, police said.

The gunman was described as black, in his mid 20s, about 6 feet tall and weighing between 170 and 190 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.
