HOUSTON - Kids living near the Spring recreational area now have a new skate park to enjoy.

Called Dylan Park, it honors a special boy who died of child abuse five years ago.

Stretching across 10 acres, the park also has a showcase facility for special needs children.

Houston Mayor Annise Parker was at the park's grand opening Thursday.

"It's about making sure those who use this facility feel welcome, safe and comfortable. But also, we're willing to invest to make it special," Parker said.

She said the park is the state's largest skate park and will draw in residents from all over the city and even the country.
