Naked boy with lighter leads to dad's arrest

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 39-year-old man was arrested Saturday morning after police were called when a naked boy holding a lighter was found wandering around the Ramada Inn on Baymeadows Road.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report, Martin Sedlack was arrested Saturday morning after police were called to the Ramada Inn on Baymeadows Road, where a little boy was found wandering the hotel naked, and holding a lighter.

As the officers and hotel staff were trying to find the parents, Martin Sedlack came out of his room. He told police that the boy must have left the room while he was asleep.

Police who searched his room said they found drug paraphernalia, including a crack pipe.

Sedlack was charged with child neglect and possession of drug paraphernalia. When the boy’s mother returned to the hotel from the VA Clinic, she told police she’d informed Sedlacko where she was going. She was not charged.

The Florida Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident.
