Multiple armed men rob high-schooler at bus stop in Fort Bend County, police say

HOUSTON – The Missouri City Police Department said it is investigating after a high-school student was robbed at gunpoint while waiting at a bus stop.

Investigators said an Elkins High School student was waiting at the intersection of Hilton Head and Indian Wells around 7 a.m. Wednesday when four men pulled up in a dark-colored truck. Police said two of the men were armed. Officers said the group stole the student's backpack, cellphone and wallet.

Elkins High School Principal Barbara Whitaker released a statement to parents Wednesday, informing parents about the incident.

"This incident also serves as reminder to talk to your children about the importance of always being aware of their surroundings," Whitaker said.

Whitaker said the student was unharmed and administrators have increased patrols in the area.

The men are still on the loose, police said.
