Motorcyclist killed after crashing into Mustang in west Houston, according to police

HOUSTON – A man riding a dirt bike on a dark road was killed after colliding with a Mustang in west Houston Wednesday night. 

Deputies said the driver of the dirt bike, Justin Smith, was headed southbound on 3100 block of Fry Road when he crashed into a Mustang driving northbound at Morton.

Police said the driver in the Mustang did not see the motorcycle when turning into a private parking lot. The front of the motorcycle slammed into the side of the car, that seriously injured the Smith.

Smith was taken to the Methodist West Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  

Smith was not wearing a helmet and was riding the bike illegally and without lights, according to investigators. 

The driver of the Mustang was not hurt and will not be charged.
