Motorcyclist dies after 50-foot fall

HOUSTON - A motorcyclist died Friday morning after he fell off an overpass in north Houston.

Houston police said the man was riding his motorcycle on the North Sam Houston Parkway around 9 a.m. He was on the ramp to the North Freeway when he struck an outside retaining wall.

The man was thrown off the motorcycle and fell about 50 feet onto the feeder road below, police said. He died at the scene. His name has not been released.

Houston police said he was driving at a high rate of speed when the wreck happened.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
