Mother claims daughter was sexually assaulted multiple times at Cy-Springs HS

CYPRESS, Texas – A student enrolled in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District has been accused of inappropriately touching a female classmate, the district confirmed Thursday.

Both students attend Cypress Springs High School, KPRC2 has confirmed.

The mother of the girl told KPRC2 her daughter was assaulted three times within the past three weeks.

"We believe the first incident was about three weeks ago and the second incident was two weeks ago and then about two days ago he kissed her on the cheek," said Kimberly Fryer, whose daughter is a sophomore at the school.

"She told me a boy at school recently grabbed her by the throat and told her 'you like that, huh,' and then on another occasion he put his hand all the way up her skirt," Fryer continued.

KPRC2 normally withholds names of sex assault victims, or in the case of minors, guardians. However, Fryer said she wanted to show her face and name.

"I want to empower women to not hide in the shadows," Fryer said. "There are plenty of things to fear in life; however, you can't fear for standing up for what's right."

Fryer said she filed a report with Cy-Fair ISD police Wednesday. She met with school administrators Thursday.

Cy-Fair ISD confirmed it is investigating the allegations. The school district released a statement to KPRC2, which read: "We take matters of inappropriate behavior very seriously. Once campus administration was made aware of the alleged incident, they immediately removed the student from the classroom and are conducting an investigation."

"[My daughter] just doesn't feel comfortable seeing him in the hall, seeing him at lunch or anything like that. I've asked for her to be transferred out of the school. That's my desire," Fryer said.

Fryer said there's a bigger picture than this investigation, as allegations of sexual harassment and assault flood headlines. Fryer said she wants victims, no matter their age, to feel comfortable coming forward.

"I'm not going to be weak. I'm going to show that I'm not scared of him," she said.
