Flash flood warnings expire for southeast Texas

HOUSTON – Scattered storms and heavy rain moved through the Houston area Thursday.

Several inches of rain fell in some locations, resulting in flooding concerns.

The National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings for Harris, Fort Bend and Brazoria counties on Thursday afternoon, but those warnings were allowed to expire.

KPRC 2 Chief Meteorologist Frank Billingsley said the storms should wind down by 7 p.m., leaving most locations to dry out overnight.

Rain chances decrease on Friday, which is the first day of fall.
