MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - A body was recovered in the San Jacinto River Sunday, five days after an 18-year-old Conroe teen disappeared while swimming with his girlfriend.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office identified the body as Jared Brimhall's on Monday.

Montgomeey County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace James Metts and Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Trey Spikes coordinated Sunday's search effort, along with Captain Mark Seals with the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.

"We've been monitoring the situation for a few days and we felt the timing would be right to hopefully recover the body of the drowning victim," said Metts.

Jared Brimhall was last seen Wednesday evening. Investigators said both he and his girlfriend got swept away by the extreme current, but she was able to make it out of the water.

Family members say Brimhall has a 2-month-old son. Sadly, they attended his Conroe High School graduation ceremony Saturday without him.

Brimhall's father told Local 2 that officials contacted the family Sunday, letting them know that a body had been found. He is waiting to positively identify his son
