HOUSTON - Two friends who made a huge prank McDonald’s poster to make a point about diversity in advertising now appear in a real McDonald’s advertisement.
Inspired by the amount of Asian diversity in the film "Crazy Rich Asians," University of Houston students Jevh Maravilla and Christian Toledo created a fake ad featuring their images.
They became a social media sensation after Maravilla shared his mischievous antics with the world 51 days after he hung the poster, as he was surprised the local chain never bothered to remove it.
After appearing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and receiving $50,000 from McDonald’s, the duo now star in a commercial for the fast-food giant. Watch a clip from it in the video above.
