Mattress Mack released from hospital after heart surgery

The surgery was close to a small hole in Mack's heart which has been there since birth

HOUSTON – Mattress Mack is recovering at home after being released from a hospital in the Texas Medical Center following surgery.

The surgery was to correct a small hole in Mack's heart which had been there since birth.

"You know I've been having the numbers in my face, so I talked to Dr. Willis down here at the Texas Heart Institute and they did all these tests and found out I have a condition called PHL or something where your hearts not fully formed," Mack told Local 2 Thursday evening. "There was a hole in my heart and blood was leaking out ,so they had to fix it today."

Mattress Mack went home Friday afternoon.
