Masked man gropes woman in League City home

Neighbors 'freaked out' by creepy intruder

LEAGUE CITY, Texas - A man wearing all black and a red mask snuck into a League City home Tuesday morning, police said.

The victim called police at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and told officers that a masked man came into her home in the 2100 block of Autumn Cove, got close to her face and rubbed her leg. Police said she woke up and he ran away.

"I was shocked because this doesn't usually happen in this part of the neighborhood and I was up to 2 a.m. and I didn't hear anything," neighbor Michelle Stevens said. "Thank God cause I would have freaked out."

There was no sign of forced entry into the home, investigators said.

"This would be considered like a burglary. Obviously he didn't have a right to enter the home and he was touching the woman," said Kristi Wyatt, Director of Communications with League City. "It is very serious. Something that frightens people. Obviously you wouldn't want anything like this to happen in your neighborhood."

Now people living in the area plan to lock their doors and set their alarms. They want to do what they can to keep their families safe.

"We were flabbergasted. One of the reasons why we moved to South Shore Harbor is because it's a nice community neighborhood," said Jim Stevens, a neighbor.

Police describe the intruder as a man between 6 feet 2 to 6 feet 4 inches tall. League City police ask that if you saw anything suspicious to give them a call.
