Officials said the suspect, 27-year-old Mauricio Ernesto Arevalo, is charged with murder. He's accused of killing of Kevin Moncada, 23.

Police said Moncada was with several friends in a parking lot on Richmond Aveune when he was approached by Arevalo, a man he knew.

According to authorities, one of Moncada's friends immediately approached Arevalo and tried to calm him down.  Arevalo ignored the friend's pleas, got out of his vehicle and shot Moncada several times. Arevalo drove away and Moncada died at the scene.
