RICHMOND, Texas - Police are searching for a man who held up a Richmond loan store.

Richmond police said a man walked into The Loan Depot in the 1300 block of F.M. 2218 shortly before 7 p.m. on Friday.

The man told two employees to get on the ground, police said. He forced one of them to open a safe and then grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash, investigators said.

Detectives said the employees told them that the man kept his hand in a pocket the entire time, so they did not know if he had a weapon.

After the robbery, the man got into the passenger side of a white or tan Nissan Pathfinder, police said.

The robber was described as black with a dark complexion, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and 145 to 165 pounds with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, faded blue jeans, black sneakers and a black ski mask over his face.

A detailed description of the getaway driver has not been released.

Anyone with information is asked to call Richmond police at 281-342-2849 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 713-342-TIPS.
