HOUSTON - Deputies are searching for a man who, they said, forced robbery victims to pour bleach into a store's surveillance equipment.
Harris County sheriff's deputies said the man walked into the Dollar General store in the 24000 block of F.M. 2100 in northeast Harris County about 10:20 p.m. on Aug. 26.
The man appeared to shop for a while and then put a red bandanna over his face. He walked up to a register, pulled out a gun and demanded cash from the register and safe, investigators said.
Detectives said the man told the employees to pour bleach into the electronic surveillance equipment in the store's office.
The store has decided to alter its hours, closing at 9 p.m., as a precaution.
Investigators said they suspect the same man robbed another Dollar General about 12 miles away.
The man was described as black, 22 to 24 years old, 6 feet 2 inches to 6 feet 3 inches tall and 170 pounds. His hair was in braids with beads attached and he has a distinct gold front tooth. He was last seen wearing a black and white hooded sweatshirt, jeans, red tennis shoes, a black baseball cap and a red bandanna that covered his nose and mouth.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.16490650
