HOUSTON – One man is in custody after he used a sledgehammer to break into a convenience store in southwest Houston.
Police say early Thursday morning officers responded to an alarm at the Metro Food #2 store off south Gessner and Braeswood.

When they arrived, officers found a huge hole in one of the walls and the burglar still inside.
Officers say he tried to run off, but they caught up with him a few minutes later and he was arrested.
