Man robs convenience store at gunpoint

SUGAR LAND, Texas – Police are searching for a man who held up a Fort Bend County convenience store.

Sugar Land police said the robber approached the clerk as he washed the parking lot of the Chevron Food Mart in the 13800 block of the Southwest Freeway near Sugar Creek Boulevard about 3 a.m. on Monday.

The robber, who was armed with a shotgun, forced the clerk to go into the store and demanded cash from the register, detectives said.

The clerk complied and handed over and undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber was described as black, in his early 20s and 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slender build. He was last seen wearing a sweatshirt with a red "C," camouflage pants and black tennis shoes with white soles and yellow strings. He also used a rag to cover his face.
