Man killed in early morning mobile home fire

HOUSTON – A man was killed early Saturday morning in a mobile home fire in South Central Houston.

Houston firefighters responded to the fire shortly after midnight.

Firefighters found three people inside, which included a man, his girlfriend, and the man's 12-year-old daughter.

The young girl and the man's girlfriend were able to escape from the mobile home, but officials said the man, identified as 75-year-old Robert Martin, was not able to make it outside. Martin died inside the mobile home.

Paramedics attended to Martin's girlfriend at the scene.

Arson investigators are looking into what caused the fire to start.

Houston police said foul play is not suspected at this time, but anyone with information in this case should call HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
