Man killed in double stabbing

HPD: Homeowner's argument with guests led to stabbing

HOUSTON - A fight at a southeast Houston home Tuesday night ended with one man dead and the homeowner in the hospital.

Police said the two got into a fight at the home on Beldart Street and Crosswell Street in southeast Houston around 11:30 p.m.  The homeowner's guest, 20-year-old Blake Grigsby, was found dead in the living room.

The homeowner, 55-year-old Johnny Thomas, was also stabbed in the fight. He was conscious when paramedics arrived and was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition.

Police said two men went to the home to visit the homeowner. It's unclear what led to the argument.

During the fight, police said Thomas and Grigsbuy pulled out knives and stabbed each other.

The second guest left the home and police are looking for him.

The case will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
