HOUSTON – A man was killed when he tried to cross the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 at Aleen Street Friday night.
The incident happened about 11:15 p.m.

According to Houston police, several cars were able to swerve around the man but an 18-wheeler driver was not able to avoid hitting him. Police said the pedestrian was struck by the right bumper and headlights and died instantly. The truck driver stopped and waited for officers to arrive.
They said the truck driver did not show any signs of impairment and charges are unlikely in the case.
