HOUSTON – A woman is recovering after police said she was shot in southwest Houston.
Police said just before 3 a.m. Tuesday an auto mechanic told them he heard a gunshot and then found a woman on Alberene and Consuela with a single gunshot wound.

The woman was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, police said.
Officers are investigating what led to the shooting and said they have not made any arrests yet.
