Man fatally shot near gas station

HOUSTON – Police are searching for the man who shot another man near a southeast Houston gas station on Sunday.

Houston police said Johnny Terrell Armstead, 28, and another person were in a Nissan Rogue near the Valero gas station in the 6300 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard about 7:30 p.m.

A man in a while Grand Prix parked at a gas pump, walked over to the Rogue and fired shots into the vehicle, police said.

Armstead was wounded in the shoulder, detectives said. He ran a short distance, collapsed and died, police said.

The other person with Armstead was not hurt.

The shooter was described as black, 28 to 32 years old and about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a short fade haircut. He was last seen wearing a light tan, long-sleeved, button-down shirt and light-colored pants.
