Man demands cash at downtown bank, FBI Houston says

HOUSTON – Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a man who demanded cash at a downtown Houston bank, FBI Houston officials said.

It happened around 10:12 a.m. Thursday at the Wells Fargo Bank at 2714 Smith St.

Officials said the man entered the bank and approached a teller with a threatening note demanding cash.

Witnesses believed the man became frightened somehow by another employee and fled without taking any money, officials said. The man was last seen heading west on Drew Street on foot.

Officials said no weapon was seen and no one was physically hurt.

The man is described by FBI Houston as a black man in his 30s who is 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing about 220 pounds, with a medium build, full beard and mustache. Officials said he was wearing a plaid short-sleeve, button-down shirt, a blue undershirt, khaki shorts, white ankle-high socks and white high-top Jordan sneakers.
