Police are looking for three others connected to case

HOUSTON – One suspect has been arrested and police are searching for four others connected to the double murder of a Houston woman and her 10-year-old son.

Officials said Le "Lena" Nguyen, 29, and her son, Brandon Vu, were shot to death in their southwest Houston home in the 6600 block of Westwick Drive on May 13.

Houston police said Bobby Austin, 23, is the only suspect in custody and is charged with capital murder.

Jerome Dewon Godine, 22, is also charged with capital murder, but he is not in custody.

Police said two other men are wanted for questioning as they continue their investigation. They have been identified as Desmenn "Torch" Simon, 25, and Donte "Tay" Earls, 23.

A third shooting victim, Hoai Tranh Vu, 40, remains in critical condition at Memorial Hermann Hospital.

According to witnesses, two unknown black male suspects were seen leaving the residence in a hurry on the day of the shooting and got into a gray passenger car, possibly a Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Houston police believe the motive in this shooting is drug-related.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the three wanted individuals in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
