HOUSTON – Houston police have charged LaFredrick Johnson in the fatal shooting of Alvin Reid on Sunday, Feb. 5, officials said.
Johnson, 30, was charged with murder in the 230th State District Court on Tuesday.

Officers responded to a shooting at 3360 Alice Street at 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 5 and found Reid in a grassy area of the complex.
Reid was pronounced dead on the scene.
Witnesses said they saw the suspect leave in a gray four-door sedan. After further investigation, officers identified Johnson as the suspect and took him into custody on Feb. 13.
