Man charged after hitting boy, 11, with statue during domestic dispute, police say

HOUSTON – A man was arrested Thursday after he struck a child with a statue during a domestic dispute, Houston police said.

The incident was reported at 12:30 a.m. in the 8000 block of Richmond Avenue.

Police said Dennis Earl Taylor, 31, showed up to his aunt's apartment and caused an altercation.

Police said Traylor hit a 49-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl with his fist. Police said he then threw a statue that hit an 11-year-old boy.

Taylor was arrested and charged with injury to a child and is being held in the Harris County Jail on a $10,000 bail.

The child's injuries are unknown.

Traylor is a relative to the children and woman.
