HOUSTON - Police are looking for a man who broke into a home early this morning while a mother and her teenage daughter were home.
The incident happened at around 5:15 a.m. Monday in the 11900 block of Briar Forest, west of Kirkwood.
The man used a crowbar and broke in through the garage, police tell Local 2.
Once inside the man showed a gun to the mother.
She was able to get herself and her daughter in her bedroom and lock the door.
Police say the suspect may have been spooked when he found people inside the home and he left.
Nothing was reported missing.
"This is a really nice area," neighbor Katie O'Rear told Local 2. "To think you can't live here without anybody hurting you is ridiculous."
The mother and her daughter were not hurt.
The man was only described as being about 6 feet tall.
