HOUSTON – A man was attacked with a machete late Sunday evening at a north Harris county flea market.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office said they are currently searching for the groundskeeper, who they said was behind the attack.

Deputies said the attack happened at the Sunny Flea Market on Airline and West Gulf Bank Road. The victim called emergency officials himself after he was cut in the face and his arms. Investigators told KPRC 2 the victim and his friends were on the property after the flea market closed Sunday night.
"The victim and friends were drinking after the flea market had closed," Sgt. M. Alvarado with the Harris County Sheriff's Office said. "The suspect again he's a groundskeeper came up to the victim and told him, 'yall need to leave because the grounds are closed.'”
Deputies said the groundskeeper told the group to leave and then at some point he pulled out a machete and started swinging.
“The victim said they would leave in just a minute and the suspect pulled out a machete and struck the victim several times,” Alvarado said.
The victim had defensive wounds on his hands and arms. He was taken to the Ben Taub trauma center in serious condition.
Investigators said they know the suspect's first name and are talking to several witnesses.
