HOUSTON - A man is facing charges after being arrested near railroad tracks in northwest Houston.

Houston police said Mehrzad Malekzadeh was trespassing on railroad property on Hempstead and 12th Street at about 1:30 a.m. Monday.

When officers arrived, they said Malekzadeh was driving away from the area, but they were able to stop him. When questioned, officers said Malekzadeh told them he was burying argon near large towers and metal objects to change negative energy into positive energy for Dec. 21, 2012. That date is when the Mayan calendar ends and some believe marks doomsday.

Police haven't said what, if anything, was buried.

Malekzadeh was arrested on a Class C misdemeanor of trespassing on a railroad.
