Man arrested in connection with fatal hit-and-run

Jacquelyn Froeba hit by car outside The Alibi

HUMBLE, Texas - Police have a man in custody in connection with a Saturday morning hit-and-run that killed a 31-year-old woman.

Ryan Rubich, 25, was arrested Monday morning at Willowbrook Mall after police said they received a tip that he was there.

Rubich has been accused of running over Jacquelyn Froeba in the 600 block of East F.M. 1960 early Saturday.

"They (Montgomery County Sheriffs) went to that location and did end up locating the suspect," said Humble police Sgt. Ken Theis.

Police said the white Mini Cooper used in Froeba's death after she left The Alibi bar was also found.

"We had gotten word it was in that general area. One of our officers actually spotted that vehicle, and the vehicle was obtained as well and was brought here," said Theis.

Rubich is being held at the Humble Police Department.

"He will be questioned, and there's also a numerous amount of witness statements we have that are putting all the pieces together on this," Theis said.

Police said they expected to file charges soon.
