Man arrested after failed kidnapping attempt at H-E-B

SAN ANTONIO – The Schertz Police department has arrested a man they say attempted to abduct a 14-year-old girl from the parking lot of a grocery store on the city's Northeast Side Thursday evening.

Zachary Schultz, 24, was arrested and booked into the Guadalupe County Jail with a charge of aggravated kidnapping.

According to a press release sent by the police department Friday, the attempt occurred around 6:30 p.m. at an H-E-B located in the 17400 block of Interstate 35 North in Schertz. 

Schultz allegedly drove off after his failed attempt to take the girl, the statement said. The girl was not hurt in the incident.

The statement added that Schultz was eventually apprehended after both the girl and witnesses gave statements to police.
