Man added to 'most wanted sex offenders' list

AUSTIN, Texas - Authorities have added an East Texas man to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) says Eric Lapaul Mosby, 39, has a violent criminal past and is wanted for failure to comply with sex offender registration, tampering with a governmental record and probation violation.

Officials say Mosby has ties to several East Texas cities, including San Augustine, Nacogdoches and Tenaha.

His criminal history includes sexual assault of a child, failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and aggravated assault, according to DPS.

Authorities say Mosby was convicted in 1997 for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl, and since 2007, he has been arrested multiple times for failure to register as a sex offender.

Mosby is described as 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighs about 250 pounds and has a noticeable scar near his left eye. He may be using the alias "Hambone." He also has multiple tattoos, including a bone on his neck; a tiger on his right shoulder; and a woman on his left shoulder.

Texas Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to Mosby's capture.
