Deputies went Tuesday to the 10000 block of Shadow Pine Drive in reference to a possible burglary of a residence.

Authorities said two witnesses noticed two people in the residence's backyard, heard breaking glass and called 911.

Deputies were able to turn around and catch up to a gray Honda that had been seen leaving the residence, authorities said. The vehicle's driver, who was identified as 19-year-old Julio Ramirez, initially refused to stop, but eventually pulled over and was detained.

Ramirez was found to have several pieces of jewelry in his possession, authorities said.

Constable deputies found forced entry into the back of the victim's residence. Authorities said the home was ransacked inside.

The jewelry in Ramirez's possession was identified as belonging to the homeowners. Authorities said several other items were reported missing, including a green Lincoln Town Car that had fled the scene.

"The investigation to recover all stolen property in the burglary and to bring the accomplice of Julio Ramirez to justice is ongoing," Constable Mark Herman said.

Authorities said Ramirez was arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation and felony evading. He was booked into the Harris County jail.

His bond was set at no bond out of the 177th District Court, authorities said.
