HOUSTON - One of the men accused of shooting a Houston police officer in northeast Houston appeared before a judge early Thursday morning.
Shelton Hearld, 27, is charged with aggravated assault of a public servant and possession of a weapon. A judge set his bond at $150,000 Thursday.
Tuesday, Officer Jason Rhodes, 32, was shot in the arm while trying to stop what appeared to be a robbery at a Family Dollar store.
After hours of searching, investigators arrested two people. One juvenile, 15, was taken into custody along with Hearld.
Rhodes was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in stable condition. He was released from the hospital late Tuesday afternoon.
