According to an arrest report, the victim was getting ready to step into a stand-up tanning bed in a private room when she noticed a cellphone camera pointing at her from the floor between a wooden wall that divides her room and the room next to her.

The woman put her clothes on and waited for the person in the other booth to come out.

Police said the woman approached Javier Sotomayor, 36, as he left the room and asked him why he was recording her.

Police said Sotomayor ignored the victim and walked out of the salon.

The woman followed him and recorded him with her cellphone as he walked around the strip mall, appearing to be trying to get away from her, the report said.

Police said Sotomayor eventually went back to the front of the tanning salon, where his car was parked.

He was arrested the next day on a video voyeurism charge. Police said his cellphone was impounded as evidence.
