Man accused of driving erratically, pointing gun at driver during road rage arrested

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -  A man is accused of driving his car erratically and pointing a gun at a driver who confronted him on Dec. 10 in Harris County, police said.

Deer Park police received a call from a driver claiming that 43-year-old Kelly Weatherly was speeding dangerously in a black Kia Optima on Pasadena Boulevard. The driver told police Weatherly sped behind him and passed him, while speeding 85-90 mph, police said.

When the driver caught up to Weatherly at a red light, he told police he confronted Weatherly by giving him the middle finger, police said. That’s when Weatherly pulled out a black handgun to the window, trying to scare him, police said.

After further investigation, police said they were able to locate the address where the car is registered from the information the other driver gave them.

Weatherly was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and is being held on a $30,000 bail.
