Lockdown ends at Huffman ISD schools

HUFFMAN - The lockdown has ended at three schools in the Huffman ISD.

Police said it all started after a police chase near the schools.

District officials said they were notified by Houston police around 12:45 p.m. Friday that there was a threat in the neighborhood behind the schools.

The three campuses, Ben Bowen Early Childhood Center, Copeland Elementary and Huffman Intermediate, were locked down as a precaution.

Police said the car chase ended on E. Lake Houston Parkway near FM 1960.

Officials said both suspects are in custody.

The lockdown ended around 2 p.m. Friday.

No other information has been released at this time.
