Woman and dog killed in Montgomery County crash

Montgomery County - A woman and her dog were killed on FM 1488 in Montgomery County in a crash Thursday.

Fire and emergency crews were called out to a major crash along the 1700 block of FM 1488 near Peoples road at around 5:15 p.m.

When crews arrived they identified the driver of the Ford Focus as 20-year-old Taylor Harris. Both she and her dog were killed in the crash.

Melanie Sangil, 32 and her 3-year-old daughter, who were in the other car involved were taken to Conroe Regional hospital. Both were in stable condition.

According to Conroe Police Department, Harris was heading westbound on FM 1488 when for an unknown reason she crossed the center turn lane and struck Sangil's Nissan, who was heading eastbound, head on.

The impact was so hard that the Nissan's front license plate imprinted into the Ford Focus front bumper.
