Police search for Kingwood flasher

KINGWOOD, Texas – Police conducted a search for a man who has been flashing women, and getting away with it, for almost six months.

He's described as a white male in his early thirties who is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall.  Police said he always appears in the parking lot of a Kingwood apartment complex, usually early in the morning.  Several residents said they spotted him when they were walking their dogs.

The flashing incident at Discovery Apartments has happened five times since November, according to police.  The man exposed himself two separate times in December, once last February, and, most recently, on April 4.  On that occasion, police said he exposed himself to a 15-year-old girl.

"We got a notice in our apartment that there was someone in the early morning hours going around flashing himself to women," said Sherlee Powell, a Discovery Apartments resident.

Powell said after the incident in February, a Houston police patrol car and two officers were stationed in the parking lot, which might explain why the flasher didn't show himself again until April, when the officers were no longer there.

"We're careful, very careful about being aware of what's going on around us," said Powell.

Powell said she's not frightened, but she is concerned about the possibility that the suspect might target children.

The investigation is ongoing.
