MONTGOMERY, Texas - A mother, who was also a teacher, was killed in a head-on crash while on her way to pick up her child from school Monday.

Another driver was taken to a hospital.

KPRC 2 was told the crash happened on Watson Ranch Road at High Fire Road in Montgomery County while one vehicle was traveling east and the other was going west. Investigators with the Texas Department of Public Safety said one of the drivers crossed the center lane and the vehicles crashed head-on.

A 25-year-old woman driving a red sports utility vehicle was killed in the crash. The other driver, 22-year-old Tyler Moore, who was in a pickup truck, was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

"It is a narrow road," DPS trooper Erik Burse said. "It appears that one vehicle got in the other lane, based on the crash evidence that we have so far."

Along with her child, the victim in the crash leaves behind a husband.

DPS said the crash remains under investigation. Officials said they haven't determined which of the drivers crossed the center lane and if anything caused them to drift over. No  charges have been filed.
