LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas - The search for a missing Liberty County man was suspended after investigators deemed his disappearance to be a criminal matter.
Dennis Rogers, 54, was last seen by family members Thursday night in the woods near Plum Grove.
Detectives said Tuesday that they are investigating the possibility that foul play was involved.
The last contact with Rogers was when he dialed 911 just before 8 p.m. the day he disappeared.
"Liberty County Sheriff's Office, just received a 911 from this number, what's your emergency," a dispatcher is heard asking Rogers, who apparently called for a help before but was disconnected.
"Today I went walking and went too far now I'm somewhat lost," Rogers is heard telling the dispatcher.
Sheriff's officials say Rogers' cell phone went dead not long after that call as they were trying to triangulate his position.
