Two Yorkies stolen during home burglary

One dog was still inside, but the other two and their kennels were gone

HOUSTON – A Harris County woman is on a desperate search to find her two dogs that were stolen when thieves broke into her house. Kerie OBrien said the dogs weren't the only things that were taken but they were the only things that matter.

OBrien said she arrived home in the 13000 block of Lima Drive after work Thursday evening and saw that her garage door was open. The front door to her house had also been kicked in. When she got into the home, she saw that only one of her Yorkies was still inside. The other two, named Bella and Quinn, were gone along with their kennels.

OBrien said her laptop and television were also stolen.

"I don't even care if I get a TV in six months. I have a little one in my room. I can live without them but I can't live without my pets. They are members of my family," said OBrien.

OBrien believes the little dog that was still inside the house got scared and hid from the thieves.

OBrien said another Yorkie was stolen from her yard several years ago and was never returned. Since then, all of her dogs have been micro-chipped, something she hopes will help bring Bella and Quinn home.

On Friday morning, she and her sister posted fliers throughout the neighborhood. She's also posted pictures of Bella and Quinn on Facebook and Twitter.

"They've been reported to the micro-chipping company. I'm going to look for them. They're a part of my family they're not just an animal to me. And we're going to sell my house because obviously I'm not safe," said OBrien.

OBrien has filed a report with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
