Suspect wanted in fatal shooting of Houston teen

An early morning altercation led to gunfire in north Houston

HOUSTON - Police are asking for help while they look for a suspect wanted in a fatal shooting that occurred in north Houston late Wednesday night.

"There was some type of altercation between two vehicles," said HPD homicide detective Joshua Horn. "We believe the suspect got out of his vehicle and began firing at another vehicle."

The victim was shot at least two times in the head, according to officers at the scene.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of LP Grocery, a small grocery store, on the corner of East Crosstimbers and Bauman Road around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.

After the shooting, police said the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Arturo Reyes, left the scene in a 2013 tan Chevrolet Malibu with Texas license plates BNM4711.

Someone in the victim's car drove the injured teen to a home about one mile away before calling 911 for help.

Emergency crews showed up shortly after the call and rushed the 19-year-old to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital, but said he died a short time later. The name of the victim was not released.

Police said this shooting my have been triggered by a violent case of road rage; however, the motive is still being investigated.
