Pregnant female suspect among two shot at east Harris County game room

Deputies say two suspects who were denied entry fired shots at the security guard

HOUSTON – Two people were shot early Tuesday morning at an east Harris County game room and at least one person is now facing charges.

Harris County sheriff's investigators say three suspects tried getting into the Horse Shoe game room off Sheldon Road, but when the security guard refused to let them in, things turned violent.

The security guard, Joe Baroulette, said Johniethon Grigsby was with another man and a pregnant woman.

Investigators say Grigsby, 19, pulled out a gun and started shooting.

"He really wanted to kill me. He was pointing the gun at my face. I ducked and the bullet went pretty close to my face. I pulled out my gun and started shooting, too," said Baroulette.

The pregnant suspect was shot in the crossfire.

Deputies say Grigsby drove the pregnant woman to San Jacinto Hospital, where they were detained by an off-duty Baytown police officer working security at the facility.

The woman was rushed to Memorial Hermann by LifeFlight.

The game room was still shut down Tuesday afternoon and the owner said he'll have to spend thousands to make repairs before opening again.

A female customer inside at the time was shot and is expected to be OK.

Grigsby is charged with aggravated assault.
