Officials: Thief stole thousands worth of metal goods

HOUSTON - Deputies are searching for a man accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of metal.

Around 10:30 p.m. on June 17, Harris County sheriff's deputies said a man driving a pickup truck backed up into the parking area of a business park in the 5000 block of F.M. 2920.

Investigators said surveillance cameras were rolling when the man got out of the maroon-colored Ford and casually walked to the back where he entered a covered storage area.

The video shows the thief filling the bed of the truck with a variety of steel materials, officials said. Investigators said in all the crook got away with over $20,000 worth of metal goods.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set white man with short, brown hair.
