Men sought in takeover-style robbery at Wells Fargo Bank

Four armed men burst into the bank and fled with cash

HOUSTON – Deputies are searching for the men who barged into a southeast Harris County bank and demanded money.

Nearly two dozen people were inside the Wells Fargo Bank off  Scarsdale and Highland Meadows Drive when the armed gunmen stormed through the front door at around 11 a.m. Tuesday, witnesses said.

Customer Mary John was at a loan officer's desk at the time.

"One guy came in and pushed me, and said, 'Get out, get out'. The other guys started pushing the load officer, too," John explained.

The FBI said at least three men were involved. They were carrying pistols and wore ski masks.

The robbery only lasted a few minutes and then investigators said the trio jumped into a white stolen truck and took off. Police saidthey dumped it down the road and took off running, and they managed to get away.

Jimmy Taylor was in the parking lot and saw the truck.

"We walked out here and the car was running. We looked inside and no one was inside the car," said Taylor.

The FBI will be checking security cameras to see if the three men may be connected to other robberies in the area.

Police said no one suffered serious injuries at the bank and no shots were fired.
