Homeowner injured by armed intruders in Spring

Deputies say one suspect was captured, a second is still on the run

HARRIS COUNTY – A man was rushed to the hospital after deputies said two men broke into his house during a home invasion in Spring.

According to detectives, the suspects forced their way in to the home off Old Carriage Lane and Pepper Ridge Lane in the Lexington Woods around 10:30 p.m. Monday night.

"The male homeowner was restrained," said Det. Rico Castillo with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. "He did withstand serious injuries. There were other families members inside and one of them was able to escape and called for help."

Precinct 4 deputy constables arrived, along with deputies from the Harris County Sheriff's Office, shortly after the call for help was made.

"We found one of the suspects inside of the home and we set up a perimeter to search for the other one. He ran on foot. The description we have is vague, he is described as a white male between 20-30 years old," said detective Castillo.

The homeowner was rushed to the hospital, but is expected to make a full recovery. The other family members inside of the home were not hurt.

One suspect was taken into custody and will be interviewed by detectives.

Deputies did not disclose what was taken from the home or the name of the suspect and victim at this time.
