HCSO: Man lured 2 teens away from Deerbrook Mall

The boys were approached by a man who offered to sell them an iPhone for $60

HARRIS COUNTY – Officials are investigating an incident after a grandmother said her two teen grandsons were lured away from a mall in Humble earlier this month.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said a grandmother dropped off her two 14-year-old grandsons at the Deerbrook Mall on June 11.

Officials said about 30 minutes later, the boys were outside and approached by a man who offered to sell them an iPhone for $60.

According to authorities, the boys agreed and the man told them to get in his car so they could go pick up the phone at another location. The man drove the boys to an area off Aldine Bender Road.

Officials said the man took money from the boys and drove off in a four-door Nissan without giving them the iPhone.

Investigators described the suspect as a black man with some facial hair. He was last seen wearing a Texans ball cap, Texans t-shirt and black cargo pants.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
