Family escapes fast-moving house fire

Firefighters say quick response prevents more damage

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A family is safe after fire broke out in their northwest Harris County home.  According to the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department, several people called 911 reporting the fire on Harvest Sun drive at Dawnfields Drive around 11:50 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they found flames coming from the roof and the attic. 

Firefighters say they made a fast attack and got the fire out quickly. The fire reportedly started with a short in the air conditioning/heating unit.

There was a family home at the time, but they were able to escape with their pets unharmed.
